Questions

Why are some words in quotes?

YAML 1.1 readers, which many tools still use, take yes, no, on, off and y, n as true and false, and 12:30, 1_000 and 2024-03-31 as numbers and dates. Writing them in quotes makes every reader treat them as the text they are. Words that cannot be misread are left plain.

Is the order of keys kept?

Yes, unless you turn on Sort keys A to Z.

How is multi-line text written?

As a block, with a | and the lines indented below it, which keeps line breaks readable.

Are big numbers kept?

Whole numbers are written with all their digits, even beyond what JavaScript can hold exactly.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?
