How to use it
- Drop your picture onto the page.
- Choose the color to remove: pick one, or use the color in the top left corner.
- Press Make transparent. If a light halo is left around shapes, raise the tolerance.
Questions
Why not just cut the color out?
Edges are blends of the shape and the background. The tool turns those blends into partly see-through pixels with the shape's own color under them, so a logo cut from white has clean edges and looks right on any background.
Does it remove the background of a photo?
Only a plain, even background. A photo with a busy background needs a tool that finds the subject, which is a different tool (Remove background).
Why a PNG?
PNG keeps see-through pixels and is understood everywhere. JPG cannot be see-through.
Can I do many pictures at once?
Yes. Drop as many as you like. Each gets the same settings, and you can download them all as one ZIP file.
Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?
No. The effect is worked out on your device, in your browser. The pictures are not sent to a server.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is it free?
Yes, you can use it for free. A subscription removes limits and unlocks premium tools.
