Remove blank pages
Find the blank pages of a PDF, scans included, and drop them.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF onto the page, or click to choose it.
- Leave "What counts as a mark" on the middle choice. Change it only if a blank page was kept, or a page with something on it was removed.
- Press Remove blank pages and download the new PDF. The note under it lists the pages that were taken out.
Questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Each page is drawn and looked at in your browser, on your device. The PDF is not sent to a server.
How does it decide that a page is blank?
It draws each page and looks at the picture, as a person would. Text you cannot see, such as white text or the hidden text layer of a scan, does not count. A page with a comment, a stamp or a form field is never blank, and neither is a page filled with a dark or strong color.
My scanned pages were not removed. What can I do?
Scans have paper grain, dust and dark edges that make a blank page look busy. Keep the middle choice for what counts as a mark, or try the last one, and ignore a border of 5 to 10 mm to leave out the edges.
A page with something on it was removed. What can I do?
Choose "Any mark at all", which keeps a page for a single dot, or type the page in "Keep these pages anyway". The note under the result lists the pages that were taken out, and you can save them as a separate PDF to look at them.
What is kept in the new file?
The pages you keep, as they were: text, pictures, comments and links to web addresses. Bookmarks, links that jump to another page of the document and fillable form fields are not carried over to the new file.
Can I choose the pages to remove myself?
Yes. Use Delete pages and type the pages you want to remove.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is it free?
Yes, you can use it for free. A subscription removes limits and unlocks premium tools.
