How are the grays worked out?
Each color gets the brightness the eye sees in it: green counts most, then red, then blue (the standard weights 0.299, 0.587 and 0.114). That is why a red and a green of the same strength come out as different grays.
What is pure black and white for?
Scans of text and drawings, stamps, and printing with one ink. For photographs shades of gray look better.
Can I do many pictures at once?
Yes. Drop as many as you like. Each gets the same settings, and you can download them all as one ZIP file.
Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?
No. The effect is worked out on your device, in your browser. The pictures are not sent to a server.
