Questions

Does compressing make the picture worse?

JPG, WebP and PNG with fewer colors throw away detail that is hard to see, so a small loss is normal. At quality 70 to 80 most people cannot tell the difference on a screen. If a picture would not get smaller, it is left as it is.

What happens to camera information and location?

It is removed. The new file has only the picture, so it is smaller and does not carry the place where a photo was taken. Phone photos taken sideways are turned upright first.

How does PNG get smaller?

A PNG can store every color, or a palette of up to 256 colors. Most logos and screenshots use few colors, and photos look nearly the same with 256, so the tool picks the best palette and the file often shrinks by half or more. Choose "PNG, all colors" to keep every color.

Can I do many pictures at once?

Yes. Drop as many as you like. Each is done on its own with the same settings, and you can download them all as one ZIP file.

Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?
