How to use it

  2. Choose the dots per inch (300 is usual for print).
  3. Press Set DPI. JPG and PNG pictures are not re-compressed: only the note in the file changes.

Questions

Does changing DPI change the picture?

No. DPI (dots per inch) is only a note in the file that tells a printer or a layout program how large to print the pixels. A 3000 × 2000 picture is 10 × 6.7 inches at 300 DPI and 41.7 × 27.8 inches at 72 DPI. The pixels are the same, so the picture is not sharper or bigger on screen.

Will this make a low-resolution picture print well?

No. If a picture has too few pixels for the size you want to print, setting a high DPI only makes the print size smaller. Look at the print size shown with the result.

What about other types of picture?

JPG and PNG are changed without touching the picture. WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF cannot carry the note, so they are saved as PNG with it.

Can I do many pictures at once?

Yes. Drop as many as you like. Each is done on its own with the same settings, and you can download them all as one ZIP file.

Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?
