Overlay PDFs
Lay one PDF over or under another, such as a letterhead on a letter.
How to use it
- Drop the document first and the PDF to lay over it second. Use the arrows if they are the wrong way round.
- Choose which pages go where, and whether it sits on top or behind.
- Press Overlay PDFs and download the result. The document keeps its links, forms and bookmarks.
Questions
How do I put a letterhead on a letter?
Drop the letter first and the letterhead second, choose "Behind the document" and "The first page, on every page". If the letterhead has a second page for continuation sheets, choose "Page 1 on the first page, page 2 on the rest".
What happens to the second PDF?
Only what its pages show is copied onto the document, and text stays text. Its links do not come along. Its highlights, stamps and filled-in form fields are drawn as they look.
Does it work when the pages have different sizes?
Yes. "Scale to fit the page" shrinks or enlarges the overlay to fit each page without changing its proportions, and puts it in the middle.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The files are combined in your browser, on your device.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device and are never sent to a server.
Is it free?
Yes, you can use it for free. A subscription removes limits and unlocks premium tools.
