Questions

How does sharpening work?

The tool makes a blurred copy, takes the difference between it and the picture (the edges) and adds that difference back, multiplied by the amount. This is the "unsharp mask" of photo editors.

Can it fix a blurry photo?

It makes edges look crisper, but it cannot bring back detail that was never recorded. A photo that is out of focus or moved while taken stays soft. Too much sharpening makes light edges around shapes.

Can I do many pictures at once?

Yes. Drop as many as you like. Each gets the same settings, and you can download them all as one ZIP file.

Is it slow on big pictures?

Effects look at every pixel, so a 24-megapixel photo takes a few seconds and the page may pause while it works. Making the picture smaller first with the resize tool is faster.

Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?

No. The effect is worked out on your device, in your browser. The pictures are not sent to a server.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. This tool runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device and are never sent to a server.

Is it free?

Yes, you can use it for free. A subscription removes limits and unlocks premium tools.
