Questions

How do I add VAT to a price?

Multiply the net price by 1 plus the VAT rate. At 20%, £100 becomes £100 × 1.20 = £120, of which £20 is VAT.

How do I take VAT out of a price?

Divide the gross price by 1 plus the VAT rate. At 20%, £120 ÷ 1.20 = £100. Do not just subtract 20% of £120, which would leave £96.

Is anything I enter stored?

No. Calculations happen in your browser and nothing you type is sent or saved.

Is it free?

Yes, you can use it for free. A subscription removes limits and unlocks premium tools.
