Questions
How are values written?
Numbers stay JSON numbers, true/false stay booleans, text stays text, and dates become ISO 8601 text (2024-03-31 or 2024-03-31T14:30:00), because JSON has no date type. A percent such as 12.5% is stored by Excel as 0.125, and that is what you get.
What if two columns have the same name, or a name is empty?
Repeated names get _2, _3 and so on, and empty names become column_1, column_2. The order of the columns is kept.
What happens to empty rows?
Rows with nothing in them are left out, and the page says how many.
What happens to formulas?
The value Excel last calculated is used. If a file was saved without being calculated, those cells are empty and the page says so.
Can I get every sheet in one file?
Yes. Choose Every sheet and one JSON file with a key for each sheet name, or pick one file for each sheet.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens in your browser, on your device. Your files are not sent to a server.
Is it free?
Yes, you can use it for free. A subscription removes limits and unlocks premium tools.
