How to use it

  1. Add the CSV files and put them in the order you want the rows to follow.
  2. Choose how columns are lined up. By name is right when the files have the same columns in a different order.
  3. Press Merge files and download merged.csv.

Questions

What if the files have different columns?

With By column name, the result has every column found in any file. Columns are in the order they first appear, and a file that lacks a column gets empty cells there. The page lists the columns that only some files have.

What does By position do?

The first column of every file goes with the first column of the first file, the second with the second, and so on. The header row of the first file is used and the other header rows are dropped. Use it when the files have no header, or the names differ but the layout is the same.

Can I see where each row came from?

Yes. Tick Add a column with the name of the file. The new column comes first.

Are the values changed?

No. Every value is copied as text, exactly as it is in the file. Only the separator, line breaks and quoting follow your choices.

How many files can I merge?

As many as your browser can hold in memory at once. A few hundred megabytes in total is usually fine.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The work happens in your browser, on your device. Your files are not sent to a server.

Is it free?

Yes, you can use it for free. A subscription removes limits and unlocks premium tools.
